The Isle of Man has once again received the award for "The Best Offshore Financial Services Centre" at the International Money Marketing annual awards ceremony.
Each year International Money Marketing canvasses the views of around 6,000 international financial advisers who are asked to complete a survey on a number of aspects of the international marketplace including the various jurisdictions and product providers.
The Island's award is further recognition of the Isle of Man's leading position in the international financial services market. Isle of Man's companies won first place in 13 out of 17 categories with a strong showing, once again, from the Island's life assurers who swept the board in a number of categories.
The Isle of Man award was received by Mr Norman Radcliffe, MLC, Chairman of the Insurance and Pensions Authority (IPA), who attended the event with the IPA's Chief Executive, Dr Bill Hastings.
The Isle of Man's standing in the international financial services market continues to be recognised with the IMM award following in the steps of the OFFEX Awards at the end of last year when the IPA won the award for "Best Regulated Location for Placing International Life Assurance Business".
Following on from the recent findings in the Edwards review, these awards are a further endorsement of the Isle of Man's position as a leading international finance centre.
Commenting on the Isle of Man's award, Mr Radcliffe said:
"We are delighted to have been voted Best Offshore Financial Services Centre once again. This is a very prestigious award which reaffirms our position as a world class international finance centre."
