Terms and Conditions of Service - IOM Civil Service Regulations

The Constitution of the Joint Negotiating Committee for the Civil Service (JNC) was approved by Tynwald in 1991. The Civil Service Commission and the Government Officers’ Association branch of Prospect form the two sides of the JNC. It is this forum which jointly agrees the pay and other terms and conditions of the Civil Service as set out in the Isle of Man Civil Service Regulations.

The JNC has in place a Joint Pay Sub-Committee which progresses the detailed discussions in relation to pay and benefits and puts forward recommendations for agreement within the JNC. This Sub-Committee is where much of the business related to pensions and ongoing review of current regulations is conducted.

JNC meetings are held quarterly in January, April, July and October in the afternoons after the Civil Service Commission meetings.
