The best way to stop smoking is with a combination of support and medication. You are up to 4 times more likely to quit with the help of a stop smoking service. Quit4You is the Island's free Stop Smoking Service. It provides practical advice, support and encouragement to anyone who wants to quit.
Around 2,000 people have already come to Quit4You, taking the first step to a new start.
If you're thinking about quitting smoking, there are lots of options available, including new medications and different ways of quitting (for example, cut-down-to-quit). Your Advisor will work with you to develop a personal quitting plan that is tailored to your needs.
Quit4You offers:
- Drop-in Clinics
- 1-to-1 appointments
- Vouchers for nicotine replacement therapy
- Quit4Two Pregnancy service
- Free workplace 'taster' sessions
- Regular sessions throughout your quit attempt
- Telephone, text or email support
Quit4You sessions include discussing:
- Your smoking history and past quit attempts
- Your smoking patterns and nicotine dependence
- Medication options
- A personal quitting plan to suit your lifestyle
- Setting a quit date and preparing to quit
- Helping you identify new coping strategies
- How you are finding quitting.
Medications to help you quit
If you would like to use nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), your Advisor will ask you some medical information. If NRT is suitable, they can provide you with a voucher or prescription, so you don't have to see your GP. The NRT is free - you’ll only have to pay a small 'prescription cost' unless you're exempt from these.
Quit4You can also provide information on other stop smoking medications (Champix and Zyban), but these can only be prescribed from your GP surgery.

You can also ask your Pharmacist, GP or Nurse for stop smoking advice.
Nicotine replacement therapy products are available on prescription from your GP and can also be purchased from Pharmacies. Champix and Zyban are only available from your GP. Products may not be suitable for everyone.
Free Quit4You drop-in clinics
Clincs are 1 to 1, not group sessions. No appointment necessary.
