BOGUS OFFERS OF EMPLOYMENT NOBLES (ISLE OF MAN) HOSPITAL

The Commission has recently become aware of email correspondence received by members of the public which make reference to an offer of employment at Nobles (Isle of Man) Hospital in the Isle of Man.

The address used within the bogus job offer documentation is that of the genuine Nobles (Isle of Man) Hospital namely Strang, Braddan, Isle of Man IM4 4RJ.

Telephone numbers and email addresses quoted in the bogus job applications do not relate to contact details associated with the genuine Nobles (Isle of Man) Hospital.

Correspondence seen by the Commission is signed off by a Joyce Nguyen falsely claiming to represent the Human Resources Department of the hospital.

There are only two bona fide hospitals in the Isle of Man – Noble’s Hospital in Douglas and, Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital in Ramsey. Any vacancies at these hospitals are advertised locally, in the British Medical Journal and/or other professional journals. Posts are never offered without completion of a full recruitment process including formal interviews for short-listed candidates.

Individuals should ignore any information relating to any other hospitals claiming to be based on the Isle of Man or jobs offered through sources other than those previously mentioned.

Under the circumstances the Financial Supervision Commission feels that this email correspondence is being issued to tempt the recipient into becoming the victim of an Advance Fee Fraud – see explanatory notice issued by the Commission at:

OR

Is an attempt at gaining personal data from the recipient in order to steal their identity – see explanatory notice issued by the Commission at:

Also see information issued by the Isle of Man Office of the Data Protection Supervisor at:

Under the circumstances the Commission would encourage people receiving email correspondence matching the above description to refrain from responding to it in any way. Any persons who are already involved in any dealings resulting from the aforementioned email correspondence and who have concerns should contact the Enforcement Division on +44 1624 689000 or by email to fsc@gov.im.

Any persons who have paid out funds in relation to the aforementioned correspondence or who have provided personal financial details in relation to the aforementioned correspondence should consider contacting their local police fraud unit without delay.
