Welcome to the Isle of Man Constabulary Financial Crime Unit

Introduction from Detective Chief Inspector John Mitchell, Head of the Financial Crime Unit
Welcome to the web pages of the Isle of Man Constabulary Financial Crime Unit (FCU). These pages are designed to be informative and assist in the fight against financial crime.
Financial crime takes many forms and can affect us all in one way or another; from lottery scam letters sent to our homes that seek to take money off those more vulnerable to international complex money laundering that could affect our businesses, the reputation of the Island and our national economy. Such crimes take place on a truly global scale and the FCU remains vigilant and alert to guard against such threats.
The FCU plays an important role in maintaining and protecting the integrity of the Island’s reputation as a well regulated premier finance centre.
The FCU is a multi-agency partnership consisting of highly trained Police and Customs officers supported by forensic accountants, analysts, income tax officers and support staff. The FCU is also supported by expert legal advice from the offices of the Attorney General.
