The Finance Division of the Department is responsible for all the Department's financial processes and related record keeping, and has the following specific responsibilities:

• the payment of wages and salaries for all Department staff;
• the processing and payment of all creditors for the Department;
• exercising control over debtors, receipts and banking;
• collation and presentation of the Department's revenue and capital estimates;
• financial control, including production of regular budget reports to schools and external divisions of the Department, monitoring expenditure against votes and ensuring compliance with Financial Regulations;
• advice and supervision on financial administration within the schools and external divisions of the Department; and
• advice and guidance on policy proposals and development of financial policy.
