The Family Library - based at Noble's Hall, Westmoreland Road, Douglas - is open to all the Island's children, teenagers, students, teachers and carers.
Once you get inside the stone-clad building you will be surprised by the light, bright and modern surroundings. We have large selections of books for all tastes and ages including board books, picture books, early readers and all the current novels for confident readers too.
There are graphic novels, puzzle books, classics and TV tie-in books as well as a large collection of non-fiction titles to inspire hobbies and help with project work - and there is even a small collection for mums and dads.

We also have many audio books on CD and a wonderful collection of DVDs that contain family favourites, classics, World Cinema and much, much more.
The library runs pre-school events throughout the week - check our website for details - as well as craft and animation classes on Saturdays.
Teachers, nurseries and carers can borrow books from us or take part in our book exchange programmes, or bring in a group children to enjoy the friendly and lively environment.

There is also a housebound service, where items can be delivered direct to homes, for those who are unable to visit the library themselves. Residential homes are also visited, where collections of books and/or audio tapes are supplied.
The Mobile Library service also has a Mini Mobile Library which it uses for the housebound, residential homes and schools.
A book exchange service is offered to schools. A whole range of books are on offer, from fiction by general and popular authors to non-fiction covering any subject imaginable.
The Mobile Library carries a stock of about 3000 items and has a further stock of 33,000 back at Noble's Hall, which can be viewed and requested via the computer catalogue on board. Large print books are available as well as a wide variety of audio tapes, CDs and the new range of digital Playaways. Internet access is also available on board the Mobile Library.
