Education 16+

Two young adults studyingSome 54 per cent of students stay on post-16 in secondary school sixth forms, where a wide variety of A-level courses are on offer, while a further 32 per cent of school leavers enrolled at the Isle of Man College of Further and Higher Education in Homefield Road, Douglas.

The College offers further, vocation and community education to some 8,000 people aged 16+, ranging from basic skills to bespoke industry qualifications and degrees in partnership with the University of Chester.

The College’s University Campus, at The Nunnery, Douglas, also offers a range of business degree courses as well as MBA programmes, professional qualifications and management training.

The Department of Health offers the unique opportunity of a bursary funded degree programme leading to a career as a registered nurse in either adult or mental health nursing. Other degree/masters level units can be accessed for continuous professional development for a range of health care professionals and can be found on the DH/DSC learning prospectus.
