Welcome to the DTI Training Services website.

Our aim at Training Services is to assist individuals and organisations with their training needs, in order to maximise their potential in today’s fast moving and ever changing workplace.

Through the operation of the Vocational Training Finance Support Scheme, we are able to provide the training and financial support structures necessary for the development of the Island’s workforce. We provide a range of services including; advice, assessment, financial support and the procurement of training in a variety of skills, appropriate to both commerce and industry. Additionally, Training Services administers the Scheme for the Certification of Craftsmen, (a register of qualified craftsmen in the construction sector), and the Government’s list of Approved Contractors.

DTI Training Services works closely with many on and off-Island training providers and organisations. We maintain strong links with the Department of Education’s secondary schools, the Isle of Man College, the International Business School, as well as business and industry, through the five Sector Skills Groups and other sectoral organisations.

A variety of training courses are run at the DTI Training Centre, Hills Meadow, Peel Road Douglas. These courses are organised by both Training Services and the Isle of Man College.

DTI Training Services is also responsible for the administration of all apprenticeships on the Island, with typically over 450 trainees under formal training agreement supervision. In some sectors, DTI Training Services leads the recruitment and assessment programme in partnership with industry organisations.
