About the JobCentre

As part of the Department of Trade & Industry, the JobCentre offers friendly and impartial support to all our clients on employment opportunities.

Open Monday to Friday, there is always access to all the current job vacancies, or you can visit our website here which is updated throughout the day. The JobCentre should be the start of your job search, whatever your circumstances or requirements. The JobCentre team are willing to help you get back to the workplace, or change your employment.

Our aim is to provide a strong link between employers and prospective employees – free of charge. Our Employment Advisors are available to provide impartial career and employment advice. They are able to help with compiling your C.V., completing application letters and forms, and can help with interview techniques. Appointments are advisable.

For employers – we can advertise your vacancies free of charge which includes advertisement on our busy website. As part of your advertisement we are able to distribute supplied application packs, job descriptions and application forms. Vacancies can be supplied to us via phone, fax, e-mail or in person. We also have private interview facilities available should you wish to conduct recruitment and selection at a more convenient location.

Information about the Army, Navy and RAF is held at the JobCentre, and arrangements can be made for interviews with the service of your choice. The Army will be at the JobCentre on the 2nd July, the Navy will be at the JobCentre on the 8th & 9th July, and the RAF will be at the JobCentre on the 22nd-24th July.

We circulate daily, a current list of job vacancies Island-Wide to Post Offices, Youth Centres, DHSS Offices, Town Halls, Commissioners Offices and Libraries.

The Disability Employment Service is also located within the JobCentre. If you have a disability or health problem that is likely to last for 12 months or more that affects the kind of work you are able to do, the Disability Employment Service may be able to help.

• The JobCentre is centrally located in Douglas and very easy to find (directly opposite Central Government Offices) on the corner of Prospect Hill and Hill Street (an appointment may be necessary for more detailed enquiries).
