Energy

The Department of Trade and Industry is currently working with the DLGE and others to develop a policy in the area of Energy. This is a complex and rapidly changing area that requires research, analysis and consultation with many parties across the private and public sectors, and this is already underway.

The policy will reflect the use of renewable energy sources such as wind, water and solar technologies and the widest possible input is valuable in shaping this policy. Anyone interested in this area is encouraged to complete our energy consultation document available in both Microsoft Word and Adobe pdf formats below.

The Energy Policy Consultation Document below has questions that are designed with specific points in mind but we would like to hear comment from you on anything you think is relevant. Please remember that the more information we receive about your views on energy generation and efficiency policy to more accurately we can develop a policy that reflects the view of the Island’s population, so feel free to add additional comments in the space provided or attach your comments on a separate sheet of paper.

The consultation period closed on 30th June 2008
