Work Permits in the Isle of Man
The work permit arrangements allow employers based in the Isle of Man to employ people who are not Manx workers and are not entitled to work in the Island.
Work Permits does not find jobs for people, nor people for jobs.

Application Forms
- Employed – this form is for employers wishing to employ an individual in the Isle of Man, it is to be completed by employer and potential employee.
- Self-Employed – this form is for individuals wishing to commence self-employment in the Isle of Man.
- Overseas – this form is to be used for employers wishing to employ overseas nationals in the Isle of Man . (Please contact +44 (0)1624 682390 if you require one).
- Overseas Students Scheme - this form is for individuals from outside the European Economic Area who have been granted leave to enter the Isle of Man as a student. This permit allows such students to work up to 20 hours per week during term time.
The next meeting of the Work Permit Committee is scheduled to be: 8th July 2008.
If a Work Permit application is submitted to the Committee for consideration, an advisory email will be sent, (subject to an email address being supplied) to the applicant.
A set of guide notes can be downloaded before completing the application forms.
Please note that it is important to complete the Work Permit application form in full, as failure to do so may result in a delay to process. Please also ensure that the correct postage is applied when sending application’s as the Post Office will be instructed to return the item to sender if postage has been underpaid.
