Employment Law Open Consultations
1. Draft Employment Equality Bill 2008
The Department is consulting on proposals for an Employment Equality Bill which would make it unlawful to discriminate on certain grounds in employment. The grounds proposed are:-
- race
- religion or belief
- sexual orientation
- disability
- gender reassignment
- age
The document also seeks input on new provisions relating to maternity leave and discrimination against pregnant women. The Department welcomes responses from anyone who may be affected by the proposals in this document. The document may be downloaded below. A response form may also be downloaded to your computer (right click and choose 'save target as' then save the document to your computer).
The consultation period expires on 20th June 2008.

2. Draft Employment Tribunal Rules 2008
As part of work to modernise the Isle of Man's employment law framework the Department intends to replace the Employment Tribunal Rules 1992. To this end new draft Rules have been prepared together with a consultation document.
Submissions are welcomed from anyone who thinks they may be affected by any of the proposals.
