Minimum Wage

Rates with effect from 1st October 2008

The minimum hourly rates are:-

• A worker aged 18 years or over - £6.00 from 1st April 2010 £6.10

• A worker who has attained school leaving age but not 17 - £4.67

• A worker aged 17 years but not 18 - £5.24

• A Worker aged 18 or over, receiving DTI accredited training who is within the first 6 months of employment with his or her employer - £5.24

These Regulations increase the rate of the minimum wage for workers under 18, and certain workers of 18 or over who are receiving accredited training. They also amend the per hour and per day value of the accommodation amount which is applicable where an employer provides a worker with living accommodation. With effect from 1st October 2007.
