Flexible Working
Flexible working can benefit both employers and employees. Allowing employees some flexibility in the hours of place that they work can allow employees with caring responsibilities to remain in the workforce.
Flexible working can benefit employees other than carers by allowing a balance between home and work life.
Employers who allow flexibility at work find that the workforce is more motivated and that it
- helps the retention of skilled staff and reduces recruitment costs
- raises staff morale and decreases absenteeism; and
- helps them to react to changing market conditions more effectively.
From 30th September 2007 some employees will be entitled to make a request to work flexibly. For more information see here.
