Performance Indicators

Performance indicators are an important measure how well and organisation or business is performing. They allow authorities to reflect local priorities and local circumstances, and also provide necessary performance information. Targets for improvement should be set and monitored on at least an annual basis.

The Recycling Section is currently collating the statistics needed to allow it to set targets for number of key areas of work. These targets will include reference to:

- recycling rate as a percentage of total household waste arisings

- tonnage of materials recycled by type with targets for increases

- educational activities
