Household batteries
The DLGE introduced its household (dry-cell) battery recycling scheme in June 2005 and the first quarterly collections took place in November 2005. Quarterly collections are made from Co-op stores and Civic Amenity sites where battery collection units are located.

Since the scheme began in 2005, we have collected 5610kg of dry-cell batteries for recycling. This equates to approximately 270,000 'AA' batteries!
