Cooil Road Development Order
The Department of Local Government and the Environment is proposing to make an Order under Section 8 of the Town & Country Planning Act 1999. The effect of this Order would be to grant Planning Approval in Principle for the industrial development of approximately 20 hectares of land which lies in the Parish of Braddan, immediately south of Cooil Road and east of Colooney’s Lane.
The Department is now consulting on a revision of the draft Order that was first published for consultation in December 2006. The revisions have been informed by the comments made in response to the first consultation and the findings of both an Environmental Impact Assessment and an Economic Impact Study.
Copies of the revised draft Order and background statement are available to download below. Full copies of the Environmental Impact Assessment and the Economic Impact Study are available for inspection at the Department’s office or can be copied to CD on request, summary versions of each report can be downloaded below. Any person wishing to make representations in respect of the proposed Order should do so in writing to the Department at the following address:

All representations must be received by the Department no later than 12.00 noon Friday 12th March 2010
Any representations received will be available for public inspection.
After consideration of all representations, the Department will decide whether or not to proceed with the Order, either as published or amended in response to the representations. If there are significant objections, and if the Department nevertheless decides to proceed, a Public Inquiry will be arranged.
