Tynwald Stalls
Background | Allocation to Charities | Allocation to Traders | Licence ConditionsBackground
The Tynwald Fair field has approximately 140 plots for stalls at the rear of Tynwald hill. The stalls are free of charge and each plot measures 10ft x 10ft. The allocation of stalls is given first to Manx Registered Charities with the remainder allocated to Traders. However, demand for the stalls is always high and it is likely that a few people will be disappointed each year.
Allocation to Charities
An advert is placed in the Local Press and on Manx Radio during May inviting Manx Charities to apply for a stall. Approximately 3 weeks are given for the application forms to be returned and, where possible, stalls are allocated in accordance with the preferred location. All Manx Charities registered under the Charities Registrations Act 1989 are allocated a stall if they submit their application form within the relevant deadline.
If you would like details of registered Manx charities, please contact the General Registry on tel no. 685265
Allocation to Traders
An advert is placed in the Local Press and on Manx Radio during the first week in June inviting Traders to pick up an application form from the central counter at the Department of Local Government and the Environment, or have it sent in the post. For more information visit Department Enquiries The closing date for applications is approximately 2 weeks following the placement of the advert, and all applications are considered and allocations made very soon after the closing date.
Applicants are notified by letter of the outcome of their application.
