Explanatory Leaflet

The Department has prepared an Explanatory Leaflet to assist in the understanding of the different aspects of the House Purchase Assistance Scheme 2007. This Leaflet is attached at the end of the application form (on pages 10-19) which is available in the table at the bottom of this page.

Register of First Time Buyers

The Department maintains a Register of First Time Buyers to determine the demand for first time buyer housing and assist the Department in understanding local need and preferred locations. You do not have to be on the Register to be eligible for financial assistance as grant assistance is provided towards the purchase of existing properties. However, you need to be on the Register to be considered for new “approved” first time buyer properties on developments undertaken by the Department or private developers.

It is necessary to complete an application form if you wish to be on the Register. Download an application form from the document table at the bottom of the page.
