Accreditations

United Kingdom Accreditation Service

UKAS Testing AccreditationWe are accredited by UKAS, the United Kingdom Accreditation Service, to recognised International Standard BS EN ISO / IEC 17025:2005 for a representative range of our testing work. Details of the precise scope of our accreditation, which should be noted does not cover the entirety of our very wide range of work, may be viewed in the file below or on the UKAS website. Only the tests specified in the schedule are subject to this formal accreditation.

The scope of accreditation is kept under constant review and is likely to change at least annually - this site should therefore be checked periodically for updates. Users for whom accredition of specific tests is important are urged to check the scope of accreditation and to discuss their requirements with the Laboratory.

Historical information on our scope of accreditation since June 2005 is also available below, allowing the accreditation status with respect to any analysis since then to be checked. For information relating to the scope prior to 2005 please contact the laboratory.

Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 demonstrates technical competence for a defined scope and the operation of a laboratory quality management system. It has been agreed internationally that fulfilment of the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 means that the laboratory meets both the technical competence requirements and management system requirements that are necessary for it to consistently deliver technically valid test results and calibrations.

Investors In People

Investor in People AccreditationWe are accredited by Investors In People, thereby demonstrating our commitment to internal quality as an organisation.

In meeting this UK-based National Standard it is confirmed by third party assessment that this Laboratory has effective management, that we recognise and reward the contribution of our people to the organisation, and that we involve and empower staff and ensure that they are able to learn and develop effectively. These interlink with a business strategy and strategies for development of staff, people management and leadership, which through the measurement of performance all lead to continuous improvement.
