WHAT IS THE CARE PROGRAMME APPROACH (CPA)
The Care Programme Approach (or CPA) is a way of organising care for people with mental health problems. If you use mental health services, it is important that you receive the care that you need. The best way for us to understand your needs is for you, as the service user, to join us in planning your own care. Sometimes it can be helpful to involve other people in this process.
Local Implementation
Locally on the Isle of Man, the Mental Health Service has introduced CPA for all service users of the Adult Mental Health Service (being adults of working age; 16 - 65 years). This means that all service users in that group who are accepted for treatment by specialist mental health services locally will be included in the CPA framework.
