What is the Advocacy Service and how can it help you?

The advocacy service works for children and young people up to the age of 18 to ensure your voice is heard in any matters affecting you. The service listens and responds by offering you support, advice, information and advocacy to children and young people giving you the opportunity to make informed choices, giving you help when you need it.

United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)

Adults have rights but children and young people have rights too. The service works with you to help you learn about and understand your rights so that you are able to use them in the right way. Sometimes, people (young people and adults) can use their rights in the wrong way and it causes trouble so it is really important that your rights are explained properly. Children and young people’s rights are listed in the convention on the rights of the child.
