Welcome to Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital

Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital Ramsey & District Cottage Hospital is clinically led by on-site General Practitioners, and comprises of 41 beds divided into two wards. Also on site are multidisciplinary departments & ancillary support. There are also on-site facilities for adults with mental heath problems and learning disabilities and a ward for the elderly mentally ill, but these are under separate management.

Ramsey & District Cottage Hospital delivers a varied range of diagnostic, therapeutic and care services, predominantly for residents of the north of the Isle of Man.

The hospital provides services from a Minor Injuries Unit (open 8.00am until 10.00pm daily), a General Ward, consisting of Maughold, Lezayre and Andreas wards, a Day Hospital and many Out-Patient facilities. Reception, administration and ancillary staff support the hospital.

The hospital is managed under Primary Health Care and aims to provide comprehensive community care facilities for the local population. Within the hospital there is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary community care team.

Patient Email Greetings Service

We are now offering a patient greeting email service for friends, family and loved ones to contact patients at Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital. This is because we know that spending time in hospital can be lonely. This service will allow people to send messages everyday, so even if you can't get to visit, your friend or loved one will know that you are thinking of them.

Centenary Information Appeal

On Monday 23rd July, 2007 Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital will be 100 years old.

Whilst it is unlikely that there is anyone out there who will remember the opening day, we would very much appreciate any information, photographs, stories, etc. about the Hospital in the years between then and now.

Anything received wll be catalogued and stored carefully, so it can be returned to its owner, or, where appropriate, copies will be made and the original returned to the owner at the time.
