Training the Trainers

The Mersey deanery provides extensive training for trainers throughout the region including the Isle of Man.

Mike Divers, Jon Evans and Roy Clague can also provide 'in-house' training for trainers and supervisors, on either a one-to-one or departmental basis. A training programme is in place for anyone involved applying the Multisource feedback, CBD, Mini-CEX and DOPs assessment tools.

Appraisal skills - This interactive educational package has been developed to help medical trainers and trainees in hospital medicine and in general practice to develop skills in appraisal. It is suitable for individuals who have had no training to date in appraisal but who nonetheless participate in the process as part of educational activity. It is also for those who desire a “refresher” in the principles and practice of appraisal. The package will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. Teaching certificate - DHSS support is available for Consultants wishing to undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education.
