FOUNDATION YEAR ONE

Foundation Year One

The F1 rotations for August 2009 are planned as follows:

More detailed information about the F1 posts can be found below:

For specific enquiries, please contact jon.evans@gov.im or linda.kelly@gov.im or mike.divers@gov.im

Educational supervisors - Each set of four trainees will have an educational supervisor who will monitor their progress and appraisal throughout their F1 year. The educational supervisor meets with each trainee at the start of each 6-month placement, to discuss his/her Personal Development Plan (PDP), learning objectives, career intentions and assessments.

Clinical supervisors - The consultant in charge of each firm is known as the clinical supervisor. He/She also meets the trainee at the start of the 6-month placement, to familiarise him/herself with the trainee's PDP and learning objectives. It is likely that the trainee will ask the clinical supervisor to carry out several assessments during the course of the placement. The trainee meets the clinical supervisor again mid-way through the placement to make sure all is going smoothly, and finally at the end of the placement to make sure all objectives have been fulfilled.

Foundation Training Programme Director - Each trainee will also meet with the FTPD at least once during the year, to ensure that all is going smoothly.
