FOUNDATION TRAINING
Introduction
Welcome to the Noble's Hospital Foundation Training Programme website.
We hope the website will give you a flavour of our F1 and F2 foundation programmes: our rotations, educational programmes and faculty.
There are three clinicians mainly responsible for co-ordinating the foundation programme at Noble's Hospital supported by a team of consultant educational and clinical supervisors, a multi-disciplinary field of teachers and trainers, and small dedicated team from Keyll Darree- the combined education and training centre.
- Jon Evans - Foundation Training Programme Director
- Roy Clague - Director of Medical Education
- Mike Divers - Deputy Director of Medical Education
Our Foundation Programme is part of the Mersey Deanery Foundation school and comprises 12 Foundation Year 1 trainees and 12 Foundation Year 2 trainees.
Training in the Foundation Programme is built around seven important principles, and is:
- trainee-centred
- competency-assessed
- service-based
- quality assured
- flexible
- coached
- structured and streamlined
The foundation programme at Noble's Hospital is based around these principles of training, which are reconciled and integrated with the clear patient-focused ethos of the hospital.
Set on a plateau overlooking open countryside with a distant view of the sea, Noble's Hospital Braddan blends state of the art health care technology with bright colour and elegant design. The result is a magnificent modern Hospital environment in which health care professionals can provide high quality services, fit for the 21st Century. The wards are light and airy, offering fine views of the surrounding countryside or landscaped courtyards, rich with decorative planting and sculptural features. There are 20 ward areas and 314 beds.
