HEALTH SERVICES DIVISION
The aim of the Isle of Man Health Services Division is –
To promote the establishment of comprehensive programmes of health promotion, treatment and care to secure improvement in the physical and mental health of the people of the Island.
This is underpinned by a number of service objectives –
- To maintain and, where necessary, improve the physical and mental health of the people of the Island through prevention and treatment of illness, disease and disability;
- To provide a comprehensive and readily available range of acute services;
- To ensure the co-ordinated provision of health and social services;
- To achieve greater awareness of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
This aim is contained within the Strategy for Health which is a document published by the Public Health Directorate and providing direction to all parties concerned, directly or otherwise in delivering services which influence the health of the Isle of Man population
In order to provide services the Division is split into a number of operating units –
- Primary Healthcare
- Noble's Hospital
- Public Health Directorate
- Personnel Unit
- Education & Training
- Administration
