HEALTH SERVICES CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE
The provision of the National Health Service on the Island is set out in the NHS Act 2001. A copy of which is available from the Government Information Centre
The Health Services Consultative Committee is an independent advisory body to the Department of Health and Social Security with regard to all aspects of the provision of the National Health Service.
The Committee is constituted under the National Health Service Act 2001 and consists of six representatives of the professions involved in providing health services and six lay members.
Lay members are not current employees or contractors of the Health Services Division of the Department in order to ensure their independence.
The professional members include:
- a Hospital Consultant
- a General Medical Practitioner
- a Nurse Practitioner
- a Dental Practitioner
- a Pharmacist
- an Optometrist
