RESEARCH ETHICS COMMITTEE
The provision of the National Health Service on the Island is set out in the NHS Act 2001. A copy of which is available from the Government Information Centre
The role of the Committee is to provide the independent advice to the Department, participants, researchers, sponsors, employers, care organisations and professionals on the extent to which proposals for research studies comply with recognised ethical standards.
The purpose of the Committee is to review any proposed study and to protect the dignity, rights, safety and well being of all actual or potential research participants.
The Committee will meet on the following dates in Seminar Room 1, Keyll Darree, Strang, Braddan, Isle of Man, at 5.00 pm.:
19th November 2007, submissions by 29th October 2007
Monday 21st January 2008 - please note change of location for this meeting only - Seminar Room 2
Monday 17th March 2008
Monday 19th May 2008
Monday 21st July 2008
Monday 15th September 2008
Monday 17th November 2008
Please note that the deadline for submissions by Isle of Man based applicants is three weeks prior to the date of the relevant meeting and four weeks for those based in the UK.
