RESEARCH ETHICS COMMITTEE
The provision of the National Health Service on the Island is set out in the NHS Act 2001. A copy of which is available from the Government Information Centre
The role of the Committee is to provide the independent advice to the Department, participants, researchers, sponsors, employers, care organisations and professionals on the extent to which proposals for research studies comply with recognised ethical standards.
The purpose of the Committee is to review any proposed study and to protect the dignity, rights, safety and well being of all actual or potential research participants.
The Committee will meet on the following dates in a Seminar Room , Keyll Darree, Strang, Braddan, Isle of Man, at 5.00 pm:
- Monday 18 January 2010
- Monday 22 March 2010
- Monday 17 May 2010
- Monday 19 July 2010
- Monday 13 September 2010
- Monday 15 November 2010
Please note that the deadline for submissions by Isle of Man based applicants is three weeks prior to the date of the relevant meeting and four weeks for those based in the UK.
Advice regarding submissions can be obtained from the Secretary to the Committee or from the Health Services Division, Crookall House (telephone 01624 642625).
