STRATEGY & PERFORMANCE DIRECTORATE
The Strategy & Performance Directorate supports the Member for Health and the senior managers of the Health Services Division in developing and progressing the Division's strategic aims.
This role includes supporting two high level committees, both of which are chaired by the Member for Health. They are:
- The Health Services Division meeting - please see below for a list of current members.
- The Clinical Recommendations Committee (CRC) - which will recommend to the Department, the most pressing needs that have to be progressed, together with those clinical interventions that are of low priority and will rationalise services in order of effectiveness and based on the needs of the population of the Isle of Man.
The Directorate also monitors the performance of service areas and provides briefings for the Minister.
The Directorate manages the bilateral healthcare agreement with the United Kingdom and arranges Patient Transfers, for patients who require treatment in the UK.
In addition, the Directorate has responsibility for the promotion of legislation covering the provision of health on the Island, this includes the: -
- National Health Service Act;
- Access to Health Records and Reports Act 1993
- Medicines Act 2003;
- Misuse of Drugs Act 1976;
- Poisons Act 1979;
- Termination of Pregnancy (Medical Defences) Act 1995.
