STRATEGY & PERFORMANCE DIRECTORATE

The Strategy & Performance Directorate supports the Member for Health and the senior managers of the Health Services Division in developing and progressing the Division's strategic aims.

This role includes supporting two high level committees, both of which are chaired by the Member for Health. They are:

The Clinical Recommendations Committee (CRC) - which will recommend to the Department, which are the most pressing Clinical needs that have to be progressed.It will also make recommendation on those clinical interventions that are of low priority and on the prioritisation of services in order of effectiveness, based on the needs of the population of the Isle of Man.

The Directorate also monitors the performance of service areas and provides briefings for the Minister, and is developing a commissioning function to link resource allocation to activity, resources and quality of health care.

The Directorate manages the bilateral healthcare agreement with the United Kingdom and arranges Patient Transfers, for patients who require treatment in the UK.
