BRAINWAVES STAFF SUGGESTION SCHEME

The Brainwaves Staff Suggestion Scheme aims to give staff an opportunity to influence the way that the Department of Health and Social Security works.
Unlike many traditional suggestion schemes, the Brainwaves Scheme moves the inspiration for change into the hands of the people who will have to make it work. Senior managers must encourage line managers to support suggestors implementing suggestions.
Reward and recognition is fast, personal and encourages every member of staff to participate in thinking of new ways to:
- Improve customer service
- Reduce waste and loss
- Improve working practices
- Reduce or simplify administration procedures
- Or simply make people feel happier
Everyone is treated equally and recognised for their contribution. The DHSS recognises the importance of a staff suggestion scheme and values the experience and knowledge of every member of staff.
If you or your team have recently implemented an idea that has improved customer service, reduced waste or saved money, then you too might be eligible to receive a Brainwave award. For more information, contact the DHSS Business Support Team on 685138 or email Tanya.Shimmin@gov.im or visit the Staff Awards page on the Department of Health and Social Security section of the intranet.
