QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE

Our aim - To exceed your expectations | Your views - Tell us how we did | If things go wrong

Our aim - To exceed your expectations

We exist to provide a range of welfare services to people living in the Isle of Man. These services are vital to the quality of life and standard of living in the Island.

We have a Code of Practice to inform you about the standards of service you can expect from our staff across the Department. We also offer leaflets that describe in more detail the standards you can expect from each service area. All our leaflets are available in large print and on audiotape upon request. If you would like a copy of any the leaflets, please click a link from the table below. If you would like a copy of the Code of Practice, please click this link to send us an email . Please state whether you would like a PDF version or a paper copy.

Your views - Tell us how we did

Your views are very important because they will help us improve our services in the future. We aim to exceed your expectations, but the only way we can, is to know what you expect. So please help us by completing comment forms in our offices or contacting local managers with any comments and compliments.

If things go wrong

We aim to provide the best service possible, but recognise that sometimes things can go wrong. We treat every complaint seriously, not only by ensuring that you receive a response as soon as possible, but also by analysing on an annual basis all complaints received. Staff are encouraged to explore issues raised in complaints and ensure that the necessary action is taken to improve the standard of service.

For advice about any general customer service issue please contact Jan Mellows, Manager, DHSS Business Support Team/Public Relations, 3rd Floor, Markwell House, Market Street, Douglas, IM1 2RZ. Telephone (685110) or email: jan.mellows@gov.im

Volunteering in the DHSS

The Department of Health and Social Security recognises the valuable work that volunteers do and we are keen to recruit more volunteers, to a variety of roles. As a volunteer, you will complement the work of health and social care professionals and other paid employees.
