Isle of Man Constabulary
Vetting and Disclosure Unit
The Isle of Man Constabulary provides a pre-employment vetting service to local organisations involved with the provision of services to children or vulnerable adults. The aim of the service is to ensure that the risk to children or vulnerable adults from potentially unscrupulous people is minimised.
The service is currently free of charge and available in respect of potential employees or volunteers. Any organisation involved with the provision of services to children or vulnerable adults, and which does not currently make use of the service offered by the Constabulary, is invited to contact the Vetting and Disclosure Unit Manager on 631393 for further details.
The Unit also deals with all checks sent to the Constabulary by the Criminal Records Bureau in the United Kingdom, under the terms of a Service Level Agreement with that agency. The Vetting and Disclosure Unit Manager is also the Constabulary Data Protection Officer, providing advice to Constabulary staff when necessary.
In addition the Unit responds to all Data Subject Access requests made under the provisions of the Data Protection Act 2002. To obtain a copy of information held by police about you, please complete the Data Subject Access form (below) and return with the required fee. Alternatively, forms can be collected from any Isle of Man Police Station.
