Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service
Fire Safety
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has a dedicated Community Safety team who can give advice on any aspect of fire safety in your home or business.
Currently the team comprises Station Officer Carl Kinvig, Sub Officer Steve Cretney and Leading Firefighter Danny Dooley. They want everyone to have a happy and safe 2008 - you can help by ensuring you have working smoke alarms in your home.
Check the battery in your smoke alarm every week and remove the cover to clean it and remove dust monthly. All batteries should be changed annually unless they have a 10 year life. It is strongly recommended not to use rechargeable batteries in a domestic smoke detector.
The team can be contacted at Fire Headquarters, tel: (01624) 647329 or by email to cs@gov.im with any queries or to request a home fire safety advisory visit.
