Chief Executive's Office
What we do
The Chief Executive's Office was formerly known as Central Services Division and exists primarily to support the work of the operational Divisions in achieving their aims and objectives and to aid the Chief Executive in driving policy and strategic matters. The primary functions of the Chief Executive's Office are:
- The coordination of the corporate planning process, which includes the Departmental Budget, Business Plan and Annual Report;
- The provision of support to managers in the drafting of policy papers for submission to the Department, Council of Ministers and Tynwald;
- Participation in, or managing, Departmental projects;
- Provision of a Welfare service for employees of the Department;
- The co-ordination of the production of answers to questions in Tynwald, House of Keys and Legislative Council; and
- The development and introduction of primary and secondary legislation.
The Department is responsible for establishing the Police Advisory Group for the purpose of advising the Department on maintaining and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the police force.
The Department also has responsibility for establishing the Police Consultative Forum for the purpose of obtaining the views of the people of the Island about the policing of the Island and the prevention of crime.
In addition, the DHA regulates the use of fireworks, licenses security staff and provides resources to the Gambling Control Commissioners.
