Who we are

Emergency Planning Officer Martin Blackburn and Deputy EPO Ian Young co-ordinate a team of volunteers who train every Wednesday evening. The Department of Home Affairs has set a target of at least 40 volunteers and currently there is a 50-strong team available to enhance community safety and resilience on the Isle of Man.

He progressed to become a trainee accountant with the Finance Division of Treasury and moved to Douglas Corporation as Assistant Borough Treasurer in 1991, later being appointed General Manager at the Villa Marina until shortly before its closure for refurbishment in 2001.
