Health & Safety Training

The Department of Economic Development has recently conducted a review of the Health and Safety training provision on the Island. As such it has made the decision to relinquish its direct involvement in the organisation and administration of the short course programme.

However, the Department remains committed to ensuring that access to high quality Health and Safety training remains available locally.

We want to ensure that both individuals and organisations have adequate information on where to find details of local training providers and the Health and Safety based training that they offer. Therefore, we have compiled an information resource containing a list of the courses previously offered by Training Services and the local training providers who have indicated their ability to deliver the training to the required standard. Included, are the training provider’s contact details and links to their websites (where available).

The courses previously provided within the short course schedule were offered at a subsidised price. As of 1st April 2013 an alternative means of funding these Health and Safety based courses will be used. Individuals and organisations will have the opportunity to access financial support through the Vocational Training Financial Support Scheme (VTFSS). Training Services is committed to the procurement of high quality short courses, which can be made available to the broad range of sectors operating in the Isle of Man.

Please be aware that it is imperative that all applications are made in advance of the training taking place and therefore, retrospective applications will not be accepted under any circumstances.
