There are few places in the world that can offer the variety of cultural experiences, historic environments and natural landscapes to be found in such close proximity.
Tourism as a sector supports a range of employment and diversification opportunities. Events and images relating to the visitor economy contribute significantly to the world’s image of the Island.
The Visitor Economy Strategy 2012-2015, available for download below, was developed following an in depth analysis of the Island’s position as a visitor destination within a global context. The document sets out key actions and themes that the Department and its partners will focus on. Its scope includes marketing communications, quality and service, events, product development and motorsport.
