Guides to Employment Rights published by the Department

The Department publishes a number of guides in relation to employment rights. In particular:

• The Guide “Isle of Man Employment Rights: a Summary” provides a brief outline of employment rights.
• The Guide “Isle of Man Employment Rights and Responsibilities: a Guide for Employers, Employees and Workers” provides a much more detailed overview of Isle of Man employment law and some other relevant legislation.

Guidance on the Employment of Young People

A copy of the Employment of Children Regulations 2005 together with guidance notes and a pro forma register form which can be used by employers, may be obtained from the Department of Education and Children's offices in Hamilton House, Peel Road, Douglas, IM1 5EZ (tel: 685820; e-mail: admin@dec.gov.im) or from the their website under the section "Policies and Procedures" and then under "Employment of Children".
