TopicReform and Consolidation of the Companies Acts 1931 - 2004
TitleConsultation on the Companies Bill 2013 and the Foreign Companies Bill 2013
Description

The Companies Bill 2013 consolidates and updates the Companies Acts 1931-2004. The Bill considers and includes all 1931 Act companies. It ensures that the legislation is consolidated and easily accessible in a single, central piece of legislation.

The standalone Foreign Companies Bill 2013 will replace Part XI of the Companies Act 1931

Considerable efforts have been made to simplify the requirements of the legislation and to reduce the amount of red tape and bureaucracy. More onerous provisions have been retained where necessary or in the case of public companies.

A Table of Derivations has been prepared to assist Consultees.
