Consultation - Merchant Shipping (Dangerous Goods and Marine Pollutants) (Amendment) Regulations 2006
These Regulations amend the Merchant Shipping (Dangerous Goods and Marine Pollutants) Regulations 2000 (SD 627/00) with effect of from 1st January 2006 dangerous goods and marine pollutants in packaged form shall be shipped only in accordance with the IMDG Code 2004 edition incorporating Amdendment 32-04.

Consultation - Merchant Shipping (Safety Provisions) (Amendment) Order 2006
The Order amends The Merchant Shipping (Safety Provisions) Application Order 2002 SD 865/02. The amendment has the effect of replacing the definition of Code or Practice (LY1) in SI 1998 No.2771 (as it is applied to the Island by SD 865/02) with a definition for LY2 and to correct earlier drafting errors.

Consultation - Merchant Shipping (Distress Signals and Prevention of Collisions)(Amendment) Regulations 2005
These Regulations amend the Merchant Shipping (Distress Signals and Prevention of Collisions) Regulations 1996 (SD 389/96) to give effect to amendments made to the COLREG Convention by IMO resolution A.910(22) adopted by the Assembly on 29 November 2001. The amendments came into effect internationally 29 November 2003.

Consultation - Merchant Shipping (Oil Pollution Compensation Limits) Order 2005
The Merchant Shipping (Oil Pollution Compensation Limits) Order 2004 amends the Merchant Shipping Act 1995 to give effect to amendments to the 1992 Protocols of the CLC Convention and IOPC Fund. The amendments which increase the limits of liability under the 1992 Protocols were adopted by resolution at the 82nd session of the Legal Committee of the International Maritime Organization.

Consultation - Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Air Pollution for Ships) Order 2005
This Order enables effect to be given to Annex VI to the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships 1973 as amended by the Protocol thereto of 1978. The Order empowers the Department of Trade and Industry to make regulations for the purpose of giving effect to Annex VI which relates to air pollution from ships.

2007 Consultation - Merchant Shipping (Qualified Owners of Manx Ships)(Relevant Countries) Regulations 2007
Section 45 of the Act enables the Department to prescribe relevant countries for the purpose of persons qualified to be the owners of Manx ships. These Regulations prescribe a list of additional countries for the purposes of section 2(1)(f), 2(1)(ff) and 2(1)(g) of the Merchant Shipping Registration Act 1991 C.15.
