Changes

The Isle of Man Aircraft Registry (IOMAR) must be notified of any changes which will affect the information shown on the Aircraft Register, certificates and systems.

Nominated contact details must be kept up to date to ensure the IOMAR notifications are sent to the correct people, access to the online customer portal (known as ARDIS) is given to the correctly appointed persons and to enable us to contact the right individual if there is a need for us to do so.

In order to avoid any impact on aircraft operations it is essential that the IOMAR is advised in advance of any changes affecting the Aircraft Register or Aircraft Operator. A failure to inform the IOMAR of any such changes is an offence which may lead to prosecution and the registration being cancelled (in accordance with the Isle of Man Civil Aviation Legislation requirements).

Please refer to RP52-Changes to Nominated Contacts, the Aircraft Register and Operator for information and guidance on IOMAR requirements. If you have any questions the Registry Services Team will be happy to assist you and can be contacted at [email protected]

For all aircraft registered prior to the 1 August 2022, Registered Owners must be aware of the following: From 1 August 2022, any changes that require the issuance of a Certificate of Registration will require the aircraft to be in full compliance with the provisions of the Civil Aviation (Aircraft Registration and Marking) Order 2022. The grandfather rights relating to Part 28 of the Air Navigation (Isle of Man) Order 2015 (commercial air transport and aerial work - allowable arrangements and valuable consideration for private flights) will no longer apply. The Registered Owner must ensure they are familiar with and comply with the replacement provisions (articles 15 – 22) of the Civil Aviation (Aircraft Registration and Marking) Order 2022.

General changes (for example name change due to marriage), email address updates and telephone number change can be sent by email to [email protected].

Registered Owner Contact The current point of contact for the Registered Owner should email [email protected] providing the details of the replacement point of contact. If this is not possible, the new contact should email [email protected], providing appropriate evidence such as an up to date List of Directors, confirming their connection to the Registered Owner

Operator Contacts To change the main Operator contact, a new Form 20 should be submitted to [email protected]. If it is an additional Operator contact that is changing we will accept an email from either the main Operator contact, listed in Section 2 of the Form 20, or from another named additional Operator contact already on the aircraft records (no Form 20 is needed).

Flight Operations Representative (FOR) In the event of a new FOR being appointed, the main Operator contact or additional Operator contact for the aircraft should email aircraft@gov.im with the person’s full details. This should include their job title, email address and telephone number.

Nominated Airworthiness Technical Representative (NATR) In the event of a new NATR being appointed, the main Operator contact or additional Operator contact for the aircraft should email [email protected] with the person’s full details. This should include their job title, email address and telephone number.

Aircraft Debtor If the aircraft invoices are to be issued in the name of a new company/party then we will require the Registered Owner representative to provide the new details by email to [email protected]. The full name and address (including post code and country) of the new debtor should be provided, along with the email address and telephone number of the person that the aircraft invoices should be sent to. However, if it is the contact person who receives and pays for the aircraft invoices that is changing, the current point of contact should email [email protected] providing the details of their replacement. If this is not possible, the new contact should email [email protected] providing appropriate evidence confirming their connection to the aircraft debtor.

Advance notice of these types of changes is required to allow sufficient time for IOMAR to review documents and reissue aircraft certificates to prevent potential delays to aircraft operations.

Please refer to Registry Publication 52  for guidance on time scales and documentation required to complete following changes:

  • Change of Registered Owner*;
  • Change of Registered Owner address*;

 *A new Certificate of Registration will be issued for these changes. For aircraft registered prior to 1 August 2022, this will have implications (refer to section 1.4 in RP52).
