Mortgage Services

The Isle of Man Aircraft Registry maintains a Register of Aircraft Mortgages in accordance with the Mortgaging of Aircraft Order 1972.

Liens cannot be recorded in the Isle of Man Register of Aircraft Mortgages.

A priority notice is a “notice of intention to make an application to enter a contemplated mortgage of an aircraft in the Register” (Mortgaging of Aircraft Order 1972).

 A priority notice may be entered on the Isle of Man Register of Aircraft Mortgages for an aircraft intending to register in the Isle of Man.  It may be entered prior to aircraft registration.

To apply, please complete Form 25 Entry of Priority Notice and email to [email protected].

Payment may be made on account for existing customers, or by credit card via our online portal.

Up to date fees can be found here.

A mortgage may only be entered in the Isle of Man Register of Aircraft Mortgages once the aircraft has been registered in the Isle of Man.

To apply, please complete Form 26 Entry of Aircraft Mortgage and email along with a certified copy of the mortgage document (and translated copy if the original is not in English), to [email protected].

Payment may be made on account for existing customers, or by credit card via our online portal.

The Isle of Man Aircraft Registry must be notified in the event there has been a change of:

  • Mortgagee or mortgagor;
  • Name and/or address of the mortgagee or mortgagor;
  • Change of the description in the mortgage of the property (e.g. change of registration marks)

By maintaining the entry on the Register, it may help avoid any delays when discharging a mortgage.

To notify us of a change in particulars, please complete Form 27 Change in Particulars and email to [email protected].

Payment may be made on account for existing customers, or by credit card via our online portal.

Up to date fees can be found here.

To discharge a mortgage from the Register of Aircraft Mortgages, please complete Form 28 Discharge of Registered Mortgage and email together with a copy of the Deed of Release or other document which satisfactorily shows that the mortgage has been discharged to [email protected].

A mortgage cannot be removed from the Register unless it has been discharged.

Payment may be made on account for existing customers, or by credit card via our online services portal.
