River Management Project
About the project
The River Management Project is a joint initiative between the Department of Environment Food and Agriculture (DEFA) and the Isle of Man Water and Sewerage Authoirty (WASA) to promote best practice in the management of the Island’s watercourses.
As well as facilitating various within-Government initiatives, Dr Karen Galtress, the River Management Project Officer, can provide free advisory visits to watercourse owners/tenants regarding fisheries and wildlife conservation, water quality maintenance, flood prevention and bank erosion. Illustrated talks and guided walks can also be arranged for organised groups.
