Freshwater Fishing

Inland Fisheries

This section provides information about fishing in the Isle of Man's rivers, reservoirs and stillwaters.

All anglers must be in possession of a valid fishing licence before they start to fish, whether it is on a river, reservoir or stillwater. If you are unsure of what type of licence is required, please check our FAQs page, or contact Fisheries using the contact details provided below.

ALL ANGLERS PLEASE NOTE -

New Regulations for freshwater fishing came into operation in March 2012 - The Inland Fisheries Regulations 2011 - anglers are advised to make sure they have fully read and understood the new Regulations before going fishing.

A Code of Conduct is now available, which provides advice and guidance on the new Regulations and other legislation relating to freshwater angling

Please contact DEFA Fisheries on 01624 685857 or email fisheries@gov.im with any queries.

Issue 8 of our newsletter Tales from the Riverbank was released in February 2012
