Fish Health
The Isle of Man currently enjoys a high fish health status. It is an approved Zone in EU terms for viral haemorrhagic septicaemia (VHS) and infectious haematopoietic necrosis (IHN). It also enjoys high health status with regard to Gyrodactylus salaris, spring viraemia of carp (SVC), infectious pancreatic necrosis (IPN) and bacterial kidney disease (BKD).
The Island currently has fresh water salmonid farms and land based salt-water species farms.
In order to maintain the high health status there are controls on the movement of fish (including shell fish) in to and out of the Isle of Man. There are health requirements.
If you wish to import or export fish (including ornamental fish) contact Agriculture@gov.im for further information. In some cases there may be additional requirements contact Inland Fisheries.
