What is the role of the Environmental Protection Unit in relation to the facility?

The Unit regulates the operation of the energy from waste facility under the Waste Licensing Regime. A waste disposal licence contains conditions calculated to prevent this facility from causing pollution of water, danger to public health and serious detriment to the amenities of the locality in which the facility is located.
