Environmental Code: Land Used for Motorised Events and Informal Access
This Code of good practice was developed in discussion between the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries & Forestry and many of the motor sport clubs and organisations on the Isle of Man.
The Code is followed on all Department land and it also provides recommended guidelines for events held on private land.
The Code endeavours to ensure that recreational events take place in a sustainable way and it highlights such things as:
- Notification and approval required for events
- Protection of watercourses and wildlife
- Warning notices and other safety issues
- Pollution and litter control
A copy of the Code can be downloaded. Copies are also available from the Department.
