Built by Souter Marine, Cowes, Isle of Wight, fpv Barrule entered service in January 2000

She is a 20 metre steel-hulled vessel designed to operate out to the 12 mile limit, an area encompassing some of the most productive fishing grounds in the Irish Sea.

Capable of round the clock operation, when necessary, Barrule carries a crew of 5 and a ramp launched "Delta" rigid inflatable boat (R.I.B.) used for boardings and inspections of fishing vessels at sea.
